Renewable Resources
A natural resource that can be replaced at the same rate at which the resource is consumed
Biomass
Energy produced by burning organic matter, such as wood, food scraps, and alcohol.
Hydroelectric water
Electricity produced by flowing water.
Geothermal Energy
Heat energy within the earth
Gasohol
Fuel from plants ( Corn, barley, and wheat).
Wind energy
Energy from moving air particles.
Solar energy
Energy from the sun.
Nonrenewable Resources
A resource that forms at a rate that is much slower than the rate which the resource is being consumed.
Nuclear energy
Energy released from the nucleus of an atom.
Fossil fuel
Fuel from once living organisms (Oil, natural gas, and coal).
