- how would you investigate?
A
1) urine dipstick
- if normal - then pre-renal cause
- abnormal - renal or post-renal
2) USS - may show post-renal cause or allow it to be exlcuded
3) biopsy - identify renal cause

- smaller than normal kidneys
- asymmetrical kidneys
A
Smaller than normal - CKD
Asymmetry - renal vascular disease
