Q

What are the two types of nephrons?

A

Cortical nephrons - glomeruli in the outer portions of the renal cortex with short loops of Henle
Juxtamedullary nephrons - glomeruli in the juxtamedullary region of the cortex with long loops extending down to the medullary pyramids. This accounts for 15% of nephrons.
