Acute Kidney Injury
A
Patho:
Cause:
Diagnose: caught in oliguric phase typically (oliguria, specific gravity is 1.007-1.01, creatine and BUN elevated)
CM:
Manage: with dehydration=IVF, with overload=diuretics. Strict I&Os
Comp: CKD

Q
Phases of AKI
A
Initiating phase- asymptomatic
Oliguric phase- decreased UOP
Diuretic phase- body compensates, increased UOP, electrolytes will decrease
Recovery phase- labs normalize
