what was the renaissance
It was a cultural and artistic movement that began in Italy during the late 14th century. Spread through Europe human started studying themselves in their history – humanities – math and science was studied more.
what role did Trede have on the Society in Renaissance? Why did it begin in Italy?
Trade helped in society of Renaissance because it brought new ideas from around the world. It brought new crops and products. It started in Italy because it was near the Mediterranean, which allowed easy trade with other countries near there.
What was the impact of the development of the printing press?
before the printing press, books, and other forms of writing had to be hand written. With the development of the printing press books were more widespread. Expanded literacy because more books were available.
define humanism and explain how it impacted the renaissance
humanism was an intellectual movement during the renaissance that emphasize the volume of human potential and individual achievement. It focused on human recent creativity in the importance of education.
Describe the difference between medieval and renaissance art
Renaissance art was more realism and humanism while medieval art was more religious
how did the reformation begin?who started it?
It began in 1517 when Martin Luther posted his 95 things criticizing the Catholic Church. Church was becoming corrupt. Luther said that the pope had too much power. Luther encourage people to follow his new ideas.
how did the reformation change the way people viewed the world?
The church became unhappy with the Renaissance – used God for money. They offered to wash away all since if they gave money. Because of this people became upset and started a new churches.

Lutheranism: Luther was upset about corruption – he tried to work out the difference. Many German saw Luther as a hero Dash he developed new ideas over overtime and creative Lutheranism.

Calvinism: major branch of protestant ism – developed by John Calvin and his followers, emphasizing predestination where God chooses who will be saved. Believes only God can lead his church in preaching worship and government.

anglicanism: 1534 by King Henry VIII in England – you didn’t wanna share power with the pope or any religious leaders. He wanted a divorce, but the Catholic Church wouldn’t let him. He made parliament declare him head of the Anglican church. Believe baptism washed away sins and began the Christian life
