what does Renaissance mean?
re-birth, renewed interest in learning, Reformation took place(decline in Church power), people more willing to look for scientific explanations

how did governments role in medicine change?
methods of prevention were the same but government took more active role eg.
in plague they banned large crowds
3 methods used to prevent the Plague
government: quarantine laws, stray animals killed
purifying the air: fires were lit
plague doctors
