Aconite napellus (Injury, cough, influenza/fever)
acute miasm
injury: suddenness; fear/presentiment of death (predicts time); restless from anxiety
cough: loud, dry, barking cough with anxiety; very sudden
flu/fever: sudden onset; feeling of death; restless from anxiety; dry burning heat; internal heat/external chill; one side hot/one side cold
Antimonium tartaricum (Cough)
cough: cough is weak/loose/rattling; pt too weak to cough it up; yawning/stretching after cough
Apis mellifera (influenza/fever)
flu/fever: ameliorated by cold; wishes to sweat but can’t; burning, dry fever w/stinging and no thirst; braincry
Arnica montana (Injury, influenza/fever)
acute miasm
injury: bruised (=aching = sore) as if beaten; does not want to be touched or approached; secondary fevers
flu/fever: whole body aches, as if the bed is too hard; chill in lower body as if dashed with cold water; chill from slightest movement
Arsenicum album (Influenza/fever)
cancer miasm
flu/fever: chilly; restless w/anxiety; fear of death; needs company; thirst for sips of cold water; GI symptoms
Badiaga (Cough)
cough: so forceful mucus flies from the mouth; sneezing/weeping during cough
Baptisia tinctoria (Influenza/fever)
flu/fever: besotted/drugged appearance; delusion body is scattered about the bed; foul odor from the mouth; red, dusky face
Belladonna (injury, influenza/fever)
acute miasm
injury: sudden intensity; acute senses; high fevers; rage; glassy/wild eyes; throbbing/pulsing; delirium; lost voice after head injury
flu/fever: rapid onset of extremely high fever (before 3pm); throbbing headache with bounding pulse; delirium w/ fever
Bellis perennis (Injury)
cancer miasm
injury: injuries/dull pain to deep tissues (womb, GI, kidneys) - feels bruising pain; breast cancer
Bromium (Cough)
cough: asthma in sailors as soon as they come ashore; cold sensation in larynx during breathing; dry cough from scraping larynx; croup from heat
Bryonia alba (Injury, cough, influenza/fever)
typhoid miasm
injury: doesn’t want to be moved/disturbed; fear of poverty; holds chest w/ cough
cough: dry, painful cough; must hold chest or head during cough (aversion to disturbance)
flu/fever: extreme thirst for cold drinks; better with application of constant pressure and stillness
Calendula (Injury)
injury: healing of wounds of the dermis (lacerated, ragged, traumatic, fractures); prevents suppuration
Camphora (Influenza/fever)
flu/fever: cold cold cold, but doesn’t want to be covered; rice water stools (cholera)
Causticum (Cough, influenza/fever)
cough: urinates during cough; sensation of not being able to cough deep enough to raise mucus; cold drinks and wet weather ameliorate
flu/fever: weakness; drinking cold water ameliorates fever; chill on left side
Chelidonium majus (Influenza/fever)
flu/fever: brown or cracked tongue; chill on right side; chill or burning heat starts in feet/hands and works its way in
Cicuta virosa (Injury)
leprosy miasm
injury: childish/foolish behaviour; hatred for humans; hiccups w/convulsions; convulsions from touch or head injury; convergent strabismus
Conium maculatum (Injury)
cancer miasm
injury: gradual weakness; induration of glands; tripoplia
Corallium rubrum (Cough)
cough: epistaxis during cough; rapid cough then falling back like a limp rag
Drosera rotundifolia (Cough)
cough: suffocative cough as soon as the head touches the pillow; holds chest during cough
Eupatorium perfoliatum (Influenza/fever) not to be confused with Eupatorium purpureum**
flu/fever: bone pain (extremities) during flu; early AM chill, fever during day
Gelsemium sempervirens (Influenza/fever)
flu/fever: chill and shaking starts in hands/feet; aggravated by fright; heavy sensation post-flu; waves of cold in spine
Helleborus niger (Injury)
typhoid miasm
injury: dull, stupefied; answers slowly; rubs forehead when thinking; sinking feeling; awkward hands; sad after head injury
Hepar sulph (Cough, influenza/fever)
cough: weeping before/after cough; retching and grasping larynx during cough; from evening to midnight; feeling of bone or splinter in the throat
flu/fever: extremely sensitive to cold air
Hypericum perfoliatum (Injury)
injury: crushing/puncturing injury to nerve-rich parts; spine/coccyx/fingers/soles/palms/tongue/genitals
Ipecacuanha (Cough)
cough: sneeze before cough, cyanosis after; suffocative cough with retching and nausea - vomiting doesn’t ameliorate; clean tongue
Ledum palustre (Injury)
injury: puncture wounds; ameliorated w/ cold, worse w/ heat; injured part is cold and spasms
Lobelia inflata (Cough)
cough: erucations before/during/after
Mercurius solubilis (flu/fever)
syphilis miasm
flu/fever: fever at night with salivation and perspiration (d/c)
Natrium sulphuricum (Injury)
injury: sad/loathsome/suicidal after head injury; better after stlool; chronic green d/c; dz of liver/GB
Nux-vomica (Influenza/fever)
flu/fever: very sensitive; white tongue; AM chill if uncovered; evening chill not ameliorated by external warmth
Opium (Injury)
injury: shock after injury; ailment from sight of injury; rash, heedless
Pyrogenium (Influenza/fever)
flu/fever: chill at 7pm beginning in dorsum; wants warmth but it doesn’t relieve chill; aching pain in limbs, better with walking, worse sitting; pulse decreases as temp increases
Rhus-toxicodendron (Injury, influenza/fever)
injury: anxiety in bed/home; worse with dampness or stillness, better with motion; dislocations, sprains, lifting strains
flu/fever: worse in dampness or sitting, ameliorated by motion; cold on the right, heat on the left
Rumex crispus (Cough)
cough: worse taking in cold/open air or undressing; cough from pressing on the pit of the throat
Ruta graveolens (Injury)
injury: eyes, cartilage, fibrous tissue/tendons/ligs of joints; anxiety from warmth; eye pain from fine sight things; nodules after injury
Spongia tosta (Cough)
cough: dry/croupy/raspy cough; cough and breathing like handsaw through wood
Squilla (Scilla) maritima (Cough)
cough: lacrimation, spurting urine during cough; productive cough in AM, dry at night; sudden and violent AM cough
Stannum (Cough)
cough: weakness in the chest and throat; exhaustion; cough from exertion.
Sulphur (Influenza/fever)
flu/fever: chill and fever ascend; fear of fever during chill; frightened easily during fever; no heat during fever; picking at bedclothes
Symphytum officinale (Injury)
