A

Group of soldiers shoot a mean dead, death described in graphic detail.
Soldier doesn’t know weather the man was armed or not(plays on his mind )
He’s haunted by it

What does the poem changing from ‘we ‘ to ‘I ‘ suggest

A

No regular rhyme scheme or line length - a story is being told
Poem begins with “we” then changes to “I” - makes it sound like a confession and more personal
In the final couplet both lines have the same metre- gives a feeling of finality and thay the feeling with stay within the soldier

A

Before stanza 5 he is talking in a coloquial tone, however in stanza 5 there’s is a clear volta where emotion and guilt submerge the speaker
