What’s exposure about?
Soldiers in the trenches of World War One are wide awake at night , afraid of an enemy attack
Nature is their main enemy
They imagine returning home but feel the doors are closed for them
What the form of exposure like?
Written in first person and uses collective pronouns such “our , “we “ to show the experiences were shared across all the soldiers in the war.
Each stanza has a regular ryhme scheme ABBAC, however the ryhme offers no comfort or satisfaction reflecting the soldiers experiences
What’s the structure exposure poem like?
Eight stanzas, but there’s no real progresssion.
The first and last stanza finish in the same way “ but nothing happens “. Absence of change
