What is the definition of The Bible? What is the difference between The old and new testament?
The Bible is a religous book sacred to Christians that contains scriptures and teachings from both the Old and New Testament. The Old testament is the first part of The Bible that contains scriptures from the Hebrew Bible from the Jewish faith. The New Testament is the second part of the Bible that contains the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
What is the pentateuch?
The pentateuch is the first five books of the Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.
What is the scientific truth in The Bible?
Observations of the universe and the world we live in.
What is the moral truth in The Bible?
Lessons and rules about good behavoir right and wrong.
Define the term Covenant. Give and example.
A covenant is a promise or agreement between God and His people. An example is when God promised Moses that he would free his people from the slavery of Egypt and into the land He promised them.
What are the 3 Sacrements? Which sacrements belong to each group?
Sacrement of Initiation- baptism, confirmation, eucharist
Sacrement of Healing- anointing of the sick, reconcilliation/pennace
Sacrement of the Service of Communion- marriage/matrimony, holy orders

An apostle is someone who is sent out.
Define the term Disciple.
A disciple is a follower.

Why is the Bible considered a library of books?
The Bible is considered a library of books because it has 66 books compiled together to make one book.
What is the difference between B.C and A.D ? What do they stand for?
B.C stands for before christ and it counts the years of the estimated birth of Christ.
A.D stands for Anno Domini which is latin for “in the year of the Lord”. It counts the years after Christ’s birth.
What does the Good News mean?
The good news is the good news of salvation for all people.
What is a prophecy?
A prediction of something to happen in the future.
The 3 types of histories found in the Bible are oral, written, and edited. What does this mean?
Oral- Stories told, sung events recounted
Written- Stories written down events recounted
Edited-Stories refined, saved and passed on
What is a parable? What are the elements of a parable. Give 2 examples of a parable and morals.
A parable is a short story. The elements of a parable are: a parable is a short story, a parable is a comparison, a parable contains a crisis, a parable has an ending, a parable teaches us a lesson about the Kingdom of God.
The first example is the parable of the prodigal son. The moral was that no matter how many times we sin God is willing and just to forgive us our sins if we are truly sorry and He still loves us.
The second parable is the parable of the good samaritan. The moral was that we should love and be kind to everyone including our enemies.
What is sin? What are the types of sin we discussed in class?
Sin is the name we give to the actions in our lives that harm our relationship with God and others. The first sin is mortal sin which completley breaks our relationship with God (ex. murder), the second is veneial sin which doesn’t break our relationship with
God but causes a ‘cooling’ in the relationship (ex. lying), the last one is social sin which goes against human dignity by causing someone to suffer oppression, exploitation etc.

What are the first 4 books of the New Testament?
Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
