Hebrew Scriptures
AKA the old testament. it is based off the Jewish religion. Jesus was taught by these books. The apostles also followed these books
Christian Scriptures
AKA the new testament (second part of the Bible). It tells the story of the early followers of Jesus, the four gospels, the act of the apostles etc….
Beatitudes
Beatitude means “Blessing” OR “Promise of true happiness”. They are directions for life. They Direct us along paths we wouldn’t normally expect to find happiness.
Blessed are the poor in spirit
Knowing we are nothing without God. Help those in need. And be humble
Blessed are those who mourn
Feel all emotions, aware of good and bad. noarm for those who ach
Blessed are the meek
Gentil, kind hearted, and put others first
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness
Seek moral goodness in everything, always fight to be good, kind to those with power and without.
Blessed are the merciful
Forgiveful, compassionate, believe in second chances, knowing that love is wayyyyy stronger than sin.
Blessed are the pure at heart
Genuine, honest, love for God, generous and don’t compare.
Blessed are the peacemakers
Try to make relationships healthy, Do what’s best for the relationship.
Blessed are those who are punished for doing the right thing
Do what’s right even though we may get made fun of, do it even if it’s not what most do.
How beatitudes relate to daily living
Bad things happen daily but we have to follow the Beatitudes and make sure we stay on the right path. (the path to forever happiness)

Prayer is a way to communicate with God and provides you with a relationship with God. Also a way to worship

Praising God for who he is

Asking for help and guidance during hard times.
Intercession
Praying to God for others. For example, the sick, needy, etc..

Being thankful to God for the many blessings he has provided us with.

Hard decisions that are made to help others or yourself and do what’s right.
Value of a human person
every person has value starting from the womb because God willed, loved, created and designed him/her for eternal happiness.

God’s closest followers. they became the teachers of the story of jesus. They helped spread the word.
