Reliability Flashcards
1
Q
What is Reliability a measure of?
A
Consistency
2
Q
Ways of assessing reliability: Test-retest
A
• Administering the same test/questionnaire to the same person on different occasions
• If the questionnaire is reliable, then the results should be very similar each time
3
Q
Ways of measuring reliability: Inter-observer reliability
A
• A small-scale pilot study of the observation in itder to check that observers are applying the behavioural categories in the same way
• Observers watch the same events yet record their data individually
4
Q
Measuring reliability
A
The two sets of scores are correlated
• To be reliable, the correlation coefficient must exceed +.80
