reliability Flashcards
internal reliability
internal consistency , increased by having high control and standardised procedures for all participants
define reliability
a measure of consistency , can get the same results when the measure is used on another
external reliability
the ability of a test to produce the same result each time it is carried out on similar people and conditions
how to asses internal reliability
split half method
test scores are split in half and compared , the closer the correlation the greater the internal reliability their is
how to asses external reliability
test retest method
compare the results of the test at one time with the results of the test at a different time, results should be the same .
how to asses inter observer reliability
compare observations of two independent observers , scores are compared to determine the consistency of the observers estimates.
