Reliability Flashcards
1
Q
What is reliability ?
A
How consistent the test or result is
2
Q
What are the 3 ways to assess reliability?
A
Test-retest
Inter-observer
using a correlation
3
Q
Test-retest?
A
Same test is given to someone on two occasions - same results = reliable
4
Q
Inter-observer?
A
Observers watch an event usually in a pilot study to see if they record the same behaviours - if they do record the same then it’s reliable
5
Q
Using a correlation?
A
In test-retest and inter-observer the two sets of scores are correlated. The correlation co-efficient should exceed +80 for reliability
