- The basis of a good relationship is honesty, respect and trust. These are the traits you should look for in a friend.
- You’ll never find a person who is the perfect friend. You should however decide if your friend has more good traits than bad ones.
- Every relationship has its problems. You may sometimes worry about the relationship or friendship. The relationship should never have a negative impact on you.
- It is important to communicate in a relationship. You have to share your feelings. Don’t be shy to chat with your partner.
- It is important that you should stay yourself at all times.

Honesty. Always be honest. Lies can destroy a relationship.
Trust. You have to trust your partner. Don’t doubt your partner’s loyalty and integrity.
Communication. It helps to understand each other and also helps in solving problems.
Honesty can be hard. Be careful how you criticise someone. You can hurt someone’s feelings terribly and break down the person’s self-esteem.
Don’t let your partner down. If you said you were going to do something, do it. Honour your promises.
Be a good listener. That will give your partner the courage to talk about anything.
Don’t become so dependant on your partner that you don’t want to do anything without him/her anymore.
Problem-solving skills.
You should have an honest conversation with your partner if you feel that there’s a problem.
Be sensitive towards your partner’s feelings and listen to when he/she has to say.
Solve the problem together.
Mutually decide if you want to continue with the relationship or whether you want to end the relationship.

Be honest about your feelings and don’t let your partner feel that you are blaming him/her.
