Believe in the use of violence with no gov’t involvement. No equality. Hate Communism.
Ideology
A set of beliefs and values.
Individualism
Putting yourself first. Right side of the spectrum
Positives about Individualism
Independence, Freedom, Self-Reliance, Wealth, Me First, Resourcefulness, Invent new products, Motivated for Yourself
Negatives about Individualism
Greed, Not everyone is sucessful, Harder to survive when group needs are dismissed, less secure
Collectivism
Put the needs of the group first over the individual. Left side of spectrum
Positives about Collectivism
Strength in numbers, share work, co-operation, accomplish great things as group, safety
Negatives about Collectivism
Less Freedom, Must do what group wants, Can’t have more than others, not everyone works hard for the group
Who is Hobbes?
A philosopher who believed in all humans were born bad.
Ex: “We must give up out=r freedoms to a dictator or we will kill each other” aka Absolute Power
Who is Locke
A Philosopher that believes in human rights and that we are born good and have learned how to be bad.
What is Rousseau’s mindset?
Work for the collective will, Group comes first (Collectivist)

Competition
As Individuals and Groups we compete with each other for profits which creates better products and workers.
Economic Freedom
As Individuals we decide for ourselves what we make, how we make it an for how much.
Rule of law
All individuals follow the same law. No politician or King is any different than another citizen
Private Property
We can own our own property and become wealthy. No government or individual may take your property.
