Deliberate release of a non-native, exotic species into an area where it did not previously occur.

A
Releasing a species into an area again, and/or where the previous introduction failed.

A
Re-stocking - Moving individuals into an area to boost local populations.

Why is there not much success with reptile and amphibian re-introductions?
A
They are sensitive to change. Amphibian re-introductions are particularly unsuccessful because aquatic systems suffer disproportionally to other systems as a result of pollution and other human activities.
