Cervical
Location: Neck region, consists of 7 bones, C1-C7 cervical vertebrae of the spine these vertebrae are separated by intervertebral disks
Function: provides support for the weight of your head, surrounds and protects your spinal cord, and allows for a wide range of head motions.
Axillary
Location: arm pit, a pyramid-shaped area located between the shoulder girdle and thorax
Function: space for neurovascular and lymphatic structures to travel through to reach the upper extremity from the neck.
Femoral
Location: thigh, wedge-shaped area formed by a depression between the muscles of the thigh. It is located on the medial aspect of the proximal thigh.
Function: passage of the main blood vessels between the pelvis and the lower limb, as well as a large nerve supplying the thigh.
Lumbar
Location: Lower back, consists of five vertebrae labeled L1 through L5.
situated between the thoracic, or chest, region of the spine, and the sacrum.
Function: provide stability for your back and spinal column and allow for a point of attachment for many muscles and ligaments
Inguinal
Location: Groin, located on the lower portion of the anterior abdominal wall, with the thigh inferiorly, the pubic tubercle medially, and the anterior superior iliac spine (ASIS) superolaterally
Function: In males, it transmits the spermatic cord, gonadal vessels, and lymphatics. While in females, it transmits the round ligament of the uterus[
Popliteal
Location: knee-pit, diamond shaped shallow depression posterior to the knee joint.
