1978-1990’s
Economic growth took off in post WWII east asia
EA witnessed a forth wave in regime changes starting in 1978 when China moved away from a Maoist model of economic organization
- Mao died in 1976, and new leaders were more pragmatic.
Subsequently both Taiwan and SK moved from dictatorships to democracy
