Q

define the angle of incidence

A

the angle that is formed at the point of incidence, measured from the ray of incidence to the normal

(the angle that is from the ray hitting a surface to the normal)

Q

when does refraction occur

A

Refraction occurs when light goes from one material into a different material with a different density. EG: air–>glass

Q

define refraction

A

Refraction is the change in direction
of waves that occurs when waves
travel from one medium to another.
Waves will slow when going from a
rarer medium to a denser one, and
will then speed up when going back
to a rarer one.
