Refraction Flashcards
In class we learnt about Refraction, and its application to light.
What causes Refraction?
The cause is a change in the density of a medium the wave passes which (causes change in wave speed)
In class we learned about the Index Of Refraction.
We used the angle of incidence and the angle* of refraction to do so.
What is the symbol of Index Of Refraction and the equation to calculate that specific value
“n” is the symbol of index of refraction.
the equation of index of refraction is:
n=sin(i)/sin(r)
Refraction occurs due to a?
change in wave speed
First ray that is going to enter the denser medium is called the?
incident ray.
the line drawn at 90*c to the surface where the ray enters medium is called…?
Normal line.
The second ray that is moving between the denser medium
Refracted ray.
The ray that has left the denser medium and returned back to normal speed
Emergent ray.
