Grasp reflex

when placing a finger or stroking the inside of the infants palm the hand will close around it
till 4-6 months
Grasp reflex

when a finger is placed under the toes, the toes will curl
till 9 months- 1 years of age
Moro reflex
startle reflex
when an infant hears a sudden loud noise or experiences unexpected movement, the infant will extent the arms and palms up, and then move the arms back to the body (sometimes crying is noted aftewards)
up to 6months of age
Rooting reflex
when the infants cheek or side of mouth is stroked and the head will turn towards it, and the infants mouth will open in attempt to suck- this helps the baby find the food source when feeding
upto 4months of age
Sucking reflex
When something touches the top of the infants mouth, the infant will begin to suck
upto 4 months of age
Babinski reflex
when the bottom of the foot is stroked from the heel upward along the outward part of the foot, the big toe dorsiflexes (bends back) and the other toes fan or spread out
upto about 1years of age
Crawling reflex

when infant is placed on stomach and pressure (such as hand) is applied to the sole of the feet, the infant will attempt to push against the feet and move the arms and legs in a crawling like motion
few weeks to months after birth
step reflex
when holding the infant upright with legs and feet touching the surface, the infant will move the legs like taking steps or walking
3-4 months of age
Tonic neck reflex
when infants head is turned to a particular side, the leg and arm on that side will extend while the leg and arm on opposite side will flex
4months of age
