What is the unique adaptation of the hatchet fish?
They have flat bodies and highly silvered sides that mirror and reflect the blue water around them, making them invisible. They also have cells on their belly that carry photophores/ light producing cells that make their body invisible/transparent.
What is the importance of variability?
Variability is important if there is a sudden or drastic change in the environment, in which the species lives.
