early flowering meant early harvest; heat spike in June, cool July, warm August, some hail in southern sections; most chaptalized; yields down 20-30%; lighter tannins, lower acid. tres bon millesime

severe frost killed off some vines, poor flowering conditions; damp summer with less sun, cool August led to mildew and rot; warm September had some hail in southern CdB, harvest was late Sept, early Oct. needing sorting throughout; not as rich as 2009 but good acid, intensity, limpidity

rainy spring, coulure, mildew; hail in Volnay, Pommard, SlB, Marsannay, Maconnais, Beaujolais; grey rot spread before harvest; quality to be found, but not much. tres bon millesime

warm spring, cool mid season, warm last third; yields down 20%; fragrant wines that are light in tannins and accessible young. tres bon millesime
