water makes up 90% of the plasma volume

o globulins - binding proteins & antibodies
o clotting proteins - prothrombin & fibrinogen
o other proteins - enzymes, hormones, others
o nutrients - glucose, fatty acids, amino acids, cholesterol, vitamins
o electrolytes - Na+, K+, Ca++, Mg++, Cl-, phosphate, sulfate, bicarbonate, other
