What is physical recreation?
This is where a person would opt to participate for intrinsic reward rather than extrinsic reward. Therefore they would be aware of the health benefits they would be getting as an individual, for pleasure and for a purposeful use of time
How can age affect what a person might choose as an activity for physical recreation?
Elderly people might prefer a recreational activity such as bowls; while younger people might prefer to try something more active or that reflects a current trend, such as skateboarding
How can location affect what a person might choose as an activity for physical recreation?
A person might be very interested in taking up surfing as a recreational activity, but it would be very difficult if they did not live near a surf beach. The same goes for snowboarding and skiing if the individual does not live near a mountain with snow
What is an example of a recreational activity that is not restricted by any factors?
Walking
What is outdoor recreation?
Many of these activities are associated with some degree of challenge, which involve the individual to cope with the natural environment that they encounter

They involve having to cope with the natural water environment
What is recreation?
This can just mean the time where a person is relaxing and enjoying themselves, but it is increasingly being used to mean doing something that is active and healthy
Why is it best for people to involve themselves in an activity that can be carried on throughout their life?
So that they can gain the maximum benefit from the use of their leisure time through an active recreation pursuit

They make arrangements for different age groups

There are many competitions, sessions, and clubs that are targeted at different age groups to encourage maximum participation
