What is decision logging
A means of documenting decisions made at an incident with reference to the rationale behind why the decisions were made
What is a key decision
A decision or course of action which either amends or changes current operating procedures, or which has an actual or potential significant impact on another organisation, person ot location
What is a key decision log
Where a decision is made to carry out actions that amend or change current procedures
Decisions can be recorded on:
The kdl pad
The cu decision log (css gathering and thinking)
The kdl (css strategic development)
What are generic risk assessments?
Nationally produced statements of risk and control measures for the fire service as a whole
What are strategic risk assessments
Created locally by frs and based on gra. Results in detailed ops procedures
What are incident risk assessments
Where the IC gathers info about the incident and determines a plan
Who can make key decisions
The IC or delegated sector commanders
How long are incident related records kept for
3 years
