what is reception theory

A

Audiences decode media language signs thro9ugh a filter of themselves, their identities and past experiences, so everyone interprets meaning differently from the same texts. target audience (demo and psychographically) are likely to have a preferred (positive) reading. opposite people will have oppositional (negative) reading, most people will negotiate.
