What did you learn from inquest

A

-neglect in patient Fiona’s care
-contractions started but advised to stay home
-in labours, baby heart rate dropped - recorded in medical notes but parents not informed
-baby born in poor conditions and pronounced dead
-nhs trust admitted liability - early intervention would resulted in live birth

Why is it important to be sensitive to them

A

Fiona said NHS trust made her feel like a problem needing to be managed rather than listening to concerns
-no empathy, continuing to hear stories of families let down by failings in care
-left facing a complex system in attempt to secure answers
