Group 1 - Women

A

K - only 17% of the board of directors in top companies are female
A - Fewer role models, lower aspirations
K- In NHS the pay gap between men and women is 23%
A - This is because there is a higher volume of women in lower-skilled jobs such as nurses as women have fewer role models and people to look up to and idolize

A

K - 1.8 million people in the UK on 0-hour contracts
A - Lack of security and job protection and no guaranteed income
K - 58% of people in poverty work
A - Wages still too low, not able to afford basic essentials especially with rising energy costs

A

K - State pension is £134 a week, low so many people go private
A - People who cant afford to get a private pension might not be able to fund themselves as it is so low and they may rely on this as their main source of income.
K - In 2021, around 150,000 elderly fell into fuel poverty
A - Heat or eat, rising deaths as people cant afford to heat houses, illnesses

Group 4 - Children

A

K - Higher pass rate at private school in 2020 Scotland is 94% compared to 89% in state schools.
A - This means pupils who can afford to pay thousands of pounds every year are statistically more likely to pass their exams and get good grades.
K - In England, it is a minimum of £9000 per year for Uni
A - Many people are not able to afford this and so cannot get the higher qualifications they will need to get higher paying jobs
