A licensee is required to disclose his/her license status in any form of advertising utilized. All advertising or solicitations for brokerage services (including internet-based advertising, web pages, e-mail, newspapers, and other visual media) must include the firm’s name or an assumed name as licensed, except for ads for personally owned property.

Under the Brokerage Relationships Act, a licensee may act as a dual agent only under the following circumstances:
- with the written consent of both parties to the transaction, which must include a statement of the terms of compensation
- after the agent has provided both parties with a pamphlet explaining agency law
