What happens after the fingerprints are reviewed?
After they are reviewed by the FDLE and the FBI, a report is sent to the DBPR to be matched with application for licensure
What are the 4 background questions that need to be answered for an application?
1) Disclose convictions, nolo contendere, adjudication withheld, guilty plea, or found guilty
2) Disclose any judgment or pending legal actions related to the practice (doesn’t include personal financial info like bankruptcy, foreclosure, credit info)
3) Disclose denials of licensure, registration, or certification
4) Disclose discipline against a license, registration, or certification
What do you need to do if you answered yes to any of the background question?
You must provide additional information with the application
What happens if you answered yes to any of the background questions?
1) Your application will have to be reviewed by FREC
2) They will review the application and decide if you need to appear in front of the FREC
3) After the appearance infront of FREC, the commissioners will vote to approve or deny the application
What are the two applicant agendas (paths) if you answered yes to a background question?
1) Consent agenda - nonappearance agence
2) Summary of Applicant (SOA) is an applicant appearance agenda
How long does the DBPR have to check an application for errors and ommissions?
30 days
How long does the DBPR have to inform the applicant of approval or denial?
90 days
What happens if you are eligible to take the exam?
- DBPR notifies the test vendor
- applicants schedule the exam appointment with the testing vendor. It is given in person at the testing center.
What must applicants provide a copy of at the scheduled exam?
A course completion certificate
Definition of a FL resident (2)
- Someone who resided continuously for at least 4 months within the previous year
- Someone who currently resides in FL with the intention to reside continuously for a period of 4+ months
