How is Brazil trying to solve the problem of child labor? Which
programs work better to help children and their families, and why?
The Brazilian constitution (1998 article 7), Child and Adolescent Act (ECA 1990) prohibit work under the age of 16, the factory acts (child labor legislation) limited the number of hours a child could work
What are some of the problems posed when we start thinking about
improving children’s working conditions, giving them agency to
improve their own lives?
- their family relies on their income
- they missed too much school already (don’t know the language- Bolivia)
How Economic Inequality Harms Societies” ?
the amount of money you have within a society is less important than what people have access to with that money. Real benefits go to those people who live in a society that has little stratification, or a small gap between rich and poor (more stratification means that there is a larger gap between rich and poor).
