A
- the least important piece of Reading section
- often unnecessary to read entire passage before attempting questions

The Questions
A
- read questions before passage
- will give you clues to specific info in passage
- “specific” questions will ask for detailed info in passage

Controversial Answer Choices
A
-eliminate answers that are overly critical or negative about a certain issue/topic

Strong Language
A
- answers that say something “must be true” are usually wrong
- extreme language: must, all, always, only, impossible, never, etc.
- correct answer is one that will not be possible to argue against
- look for more vague language: may, sometimes, could be true, might, some, etc.

Scope
A
- eliminate choices that seem impossible to accomplish in a couple paragraphs
- look for answers choices with more specific topics

Common Sense
A
-correct answer choices will never contradict a proven fact

Prior Knowledge
A
-don’t insert prior knowledge about a topic; everything you need will be in the passage
