Reactivity of metals Flashcards
1
Q
What happens when metals react
A
When metals react, their atoms form positive ions by donating one or more electrons to another atom. The atoms that require less energy tend to be most reactive. The most reactive metals are those that have less ionisation energy.
2
Q
how does reactivity across group and period
A
Increases down a group
decreases across the period
3
Q
TRUE OR FALSE- METALS ARE NORMALLY MORE REACTIVE WITH ACIDS THAN WATER
