Q

Give two ways to prevent rusting

A
  1. Paint it to create a barrier between the surface of the metal and oxygen and moisture.
  2. Can be coated with with a thin layer of zinc [metal which do not rust.]- this is done by a process called galvanising.

Q

How is acid rain created?

A

Coal[carbon]-fired power stations + other sources that burn fossil fuels emit CO2, Sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides.
It then reacts with the water vapour in the sky to form acids.
These acid then fall back to Earth as precipitation
