Magnesium + Potassium Oxide
What is the most reactive metal (GCSE)
Potassium
What metals react with water
Potassium, Sodium, Lithium, Calcium
What metals react with acid
Potassium, Sodium, Lithium, Calcium, Magnesium, Aluminium, Zinc, Iron
What is the General Equation of Neutralisation
Acid + Alkali —> Salt + Water
Which gas is made when sodium carbonate is reacted with hydrochloric acid?
Carbon Dioxide
If the Product is an Endothermic Reaction what is the reactants
Exothermic Reaction
What is the Haber Process used for
Making Ammonia
What temp is the Haber process at (And Why)
450C because it is the best compromise of the yield and reaction rate
How many atmospheres is the Haber Process at (And Why)
200 atmospheres because it helps increase the yield of ammonia
What 2 ingredients are used in the Haber Process and how where are they extracted from
Nitrogen (From the air) and Hydrogen (Obtained from natural gas)
How does the Haber Process work
The Nitrogen and the Hydrogen are pumped through the pipes. The mixture of gases are increased to 200 atmospheres. It is heated to 450C and passed through a tank containing an Iron Catalyst. The reaction mixture is cooled so Ammonia liquifies and can be extracted.
