What was the aim of the review
To provide women who took part in CervicalCheck and who developed cancer with independent clinical assurance about the timing of their diagnosis and treatment
What doe the RCOG provide
Individual reports for women or their families
What does the HSE do when it receives the reports from RCOG
Validates them to make sure they belong to the correct woman or her next of kin

Patient representatives - an information booklet that went with the letter
What was given to RCOG
Smear test sample slides from over 1000 women that were previously analysed by CCk - these women developed cancer
What did RCOG want to see
If there was any failure to prevent cancer or to recommend treatment at an earlier stage
What 2 types of results come from the review
- Agree with the original CC result - concordant
2. Disagree - discordant
If you request a meeting with a healthcare professional - who has priority
- Women with a discordant result
- Next of kin of women who are deceased
- the 221+ women or families affected by the original CC audit
- Women who receive partial reports
