Diagnosis
A
Exclude and treat underlying causes, e.g. CTDs.

Treatment (options)
A
Total body protection from cold—layered clothing, electric blanket at night
Gloves, mittens and thick woollen socks
Avoid smoking
Vasodilators (e.g. amlodipine (o) 5–20 mg/d or nifedipine SR 30–60 mg/d) in cold weather
Topical GTN ointment—over radial artery or dorsum of hand
Consider sympathectomy
