Rate Of Pohotsynthesis Part 2 Flashcards
What can any of these four factors be
Limiting factors
What does the rate of photosynthesis depend on ?
Temperature
Light intensity
Carbon dioxide levels and
Water levels
What is a limiting factor?
Something that stops photosynthesis from going any faster
What does it suggest when the graph line flattens out in terms of light intensity
Light intensity is no longer the limiting factor but temperature, carbon dioxide levels or water levels are the limiting factor
What does it suggest on the graph when the line is sloping up in terms of light intensity?
Rate of photosynthesis has increased due to light increasing
If temperature is the limiting factor what does it suggest
It’s too low
What happens if the temperature is too low or too high
Low- slows down the work ethic of enzymes
High- denatures the enzymes and they will not work at all
How does increasing amount of light increase farming in a green house
Greenhouses are made of glass allowing light in naturally for photosynthesis
At night has artificial light so photosynthesis can carry on .
What is beneficial for a greenhouse farming when carbon dioxide is increased
Paraffin heater to relapse carbon dioxide for photosynthesis
How do green houses control the temperature and keep it just right through out winter and summer
Summer- have shades or open windows to let cool air in
Winter- install heaters to keep the plants toasty warm
