Palpable purpuric symmetrical rash on legs and buttocks

Streptococcal or staphylococcal infection

Whites of eyes, tongue and lips go bright red
What are petechia?
Pinprick red or purple spot on the skin caused by bleeding
What are purpura?
Non blanching red or purple spots
What are the signs of leukaemia?
Pallor over mucous membranes
Generalised lymphadenopathy
Hepatosplenomegaly
Petechia, purpura and ecchymosis
What is immune thrombocytopaenic purpura?
Purpura due to low platelets as immune system has attacked them
What is ecchymosis?
Bruising
What are the features of measles?
Dark reddish or brown rash
Starts 3-5 days after symptoms begin
Starts on face at hairline
Moves down to neck, body and limbs
