Random Mix Flashcards
Formula for frustums
V=1/3πr2h
Pythagoras Theorem
H2=A2+B2
Then square root.
SOHCAHTOA with angles
sin -1
cos - 1
tan - 1
SOHCAHTOA with length.
sin x
cos x
tan x
formula for straight line
y=mx+c
working out gradient
y2-y1
x2-x1
Formula for frequency.
frequency density x class width
Formula for frequency density.
frequency density = frequency/class width
How to draw a histogram.
For the mean
frequency density along the side, other measure on the bottom. Area of the bar must equal the frequency.
Add a midpoint column. Frequency midpoint column (frequency x midpoint) divide the total of the frequency midpoint column by the total frequency column.
What is cumulative frequency?
Running total of frequencies. Column worked out by adding the 2 previous frequencies.
LQ
UQ
Median
Interquartile
1/4
3/4
Middle value
UQ - LQ
what is direct proportion
as one thing increases so does the other
y ∝ x
y = kx where k is the constant of proportionality.
what is inverse proportion
as one value increases the other decreases.
y ∝ 1/x
y = k/x xy = k
completing a square
square root of end number
half of middle number
solving quadratic equations
x to make end number
+ to make number with x
What is a congruent shape?
What are the congruent conditions?
Shapes that are exactly the same size and shape.
SAS. SSS. AAS.
What is a similar shape?
What are the similar conditions?
Shapes that are the same shape but different sizes. Can be different orientations.
SSS. AAA. SAS.
what does a shaded circe mean
equal to.
what does an empty circle show
the number is not included
what does a solid line mean
less than or equal to / greater than or equal too
What do distance - time graphs show
How far an object has travelled within a given time. Steeper the gradient faster it travels. Curved graph shows speed is changing accelerating / decelerating. Horizontal means stationary.
What do parallel lines have in common?
They have the same gradient.
Why are lines perpendicular?
If the angle of intersection is 90 degrees. The gradient of 1 line is negative resiprocal to its perpendicular line.
Formula for exterior angles.
exterior angles add to 360
so each angle is 360/n
What do interior and exterior angles add up to
180
Formula for interior angles.
(n-2) x 180
so each is
(n-2) x 180 / n
