Optimal foraging theory
A
A theory that the most economically advantageous foraging pattern will be selected for in a species through natural selection. Currency, measured food per unit of time, and contraints are factors that limit a foragers ability to maximize the currency. The “optimal decision rule” is the pattern that maximizes the currency under the constraints of the environment.

A
Phenology is the study of periodic plant and animal life cycle events and how these are influenced by seasonal and interannual variations in climate, as well as habitat factors (such as elevation). ex. when did the trees lose their leaves this year.
