A
Conventional
Relief
Frontal
2
Q
What type of air rises up in relief rainfall?
A
Warm moist air from the sea.
3
Q
What type of rainfall would you find over highland in relief rainfall?
A
Heavy rainfall.
4
Q
Explain relief rainfall?
A
- Warm moist air form sea rises up.
- Rising air cools.
- Cooling causes condensation.
- Sinking air warms which causes a shadow effect on the eastern side.
5
Q
Explain conventional rainfall?
A
- It’s is caused by the heating of land in summer when warm air next to ground rises.
- It rises quickly and cod forming tall clouds which can create thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. One of the most common rainfall in the tropics and Southern England in summer.
6
Q
Describe frontal rainfall?
A
When warm light air from the tropics meets cold heavy air from the polar regions. The warm air is forced to rise over the cold air which undercuts it. The air cools producing clouds and rain along a line called a front .
