To defind the skies of Britian and project its power and influence around the world.

Reapond to threats, prevent conflict, watch the skies, deliver aid, work in partnership, combat cyberthreats
When was RAF created?
1st April 1918 when RFC and RNAS amalgamated to created seperate beanch of militTy from navy and army.
Brief history?
JULY 1940 hitler imvasion of britian. 1941 we won battle of britian, for every 1 plane downed we downed 2 luftwaffe.
Start and end of ww2
2000 aircraft, end 1m airmen stabalised at 150,000
What wings make up the RAF Organisation?
Administrative, Training, Support, Operational and Tactical.
What groups make up the RAF?
No 1 group, No 2 group, No 11 group, No 22 group and No 83 expeditionary air group.
What is No 1 group?
Coordinates all of the RAF’s fast jet force elements and the intelligence, surveillance, target and reconnaissance work. To protect UK airspace 365 days a year, protect the Falkland Islands and exercising with NATO Allies.
What is No 2 group?
To generate, sustain and command forces for current operations and develop forces for future air mobility, force protection, battle space management and space operations.
What is No 11 group?
Conduct Multi domain operations. They adapt to be able to conduct operations across multiple environments or domains, particularly Air, Space and Cyber domains.
What is No 22 group?
Provides the skilled and qualified personnel that the RAF and other two services need in order to carry out operations around the world. Does this by providing training from initial officer training at cranwell to flying training for all aircraft types and specialist training like electrical and mechanical engineering.
What is No 83 expeditionary air group?
The RAF’s operational headquarters in the Middle East . Responsible for the UK’s permanent joint headquarters for command and control of 4 expeditionary air wings that currently support Operations Kipion and Shader.
