what is a transient ischemic attack?
A
stroke-like symptoms, resolve under 24 hours
this is the one exception– do not use a noncontrast CT
for something that is resolved. If someone presents with TIA like symptoms, get an MRI with diffusion wave imaging to look for something small. Also get an MR angiogram for the head and neck.
