Radiograph Flashcards
Left Lateral thorax - plate positioning and centring
Cassette against left side.
Centring - Caudal aspect of the scapula, midway between the spine and the sternum
Vertical collimation + other things to think about - left lateral thorax
From the mandible to the last rib
When you suspect neoplasia do both sides
Lateral abdomen - positioning and centring
Cassette on side of interest (i.e. right lateral = right side down)
Centring - midline, level of the last rib
Vertical collimation + other considerations - abdomen
Xiphoid –> greater trochanter
Do on expiratory phase
Hip score - plate positioning and centring point
VD view (on its back) Centring - midline level with the greater trochanters (over pubic symphysis)
Hip score - vertical collimation and other considerations
Usually patellas included to have additional views of other joints –> iliac crest
GA is required
Lateral skull - Centre point
Mid-skull
Lateral skull - vertical collimation and other considerations?
Cranial = tip of nose; Caudal = atlas/C1 Considerations = keep ears out of shot to avoid shadowing
How would you take radiographs of a tortoise?
Position = DV
Centring point = Middle of carpace (shell)
Collimate to the edges of the shell both vertically and horizontally.
Can tape carapace down to ensure static positioning of the patient
