Explain the composition of Police call signs
A
Example: QNQ1A
- Two characters to signify home station/base
- 1 Letter to signify unit type, e.g. Q or I car
- 1 or 2 characters to identify individual unit

10-9 Urgent message follows
- This requires immediate action by the recipient
- Does not necessarily indicate danger
- Relates to a matter that cannot wait for a normal break in traffic
- EXAMPLE: unit comes across a crash and requires ambulance, wanted person flees a unit, unit attending disorder job is in need of assistance
10-10 Emergency message follows
- These have absolute precedence over all other traffic
- EXAMPLE: Officer being assaulted, unit involved in crash and crew in danger
