Define race and racism?

A

Race = characterise groups due to genetic homogeneity. Constructed on hair and skin colour e.c.t - biological theories used to establish a relationship between physical characteristics, genetic differences constructed on phenotypes such as bone structure or hair colour

Racism = certain characteristics are valued over others and this + power leads to racism. The power influences society. - deterministically associated inherent biological characteristics with negatively evaluated features or actions
