Disease path of rabies?

A

Fatal within 10 days after signs start.
Once virus enters brain the signs start to appear.
In dogs most cases of rabies occurs 20-80 days after viral exposure.

Clinical signs in dogs?

A

Behavioral change. Paralysis. Eating dirt/sticks… Dysphagia (can’t drink/swallow). Profuse salivation. Aggressiveness.

A

Behavioral problems. Excitatory phase. May attack suddenly. Progressive paralysis.

A

Hind limb ataxia and weakness. Butt objects, attack, and pursue animals/humans. Lactation will stop. Yawning and tail paralysis. Facial expressions will change.
